Philanthropy is a very personal topic for me; I take it very seriously and I like to think that, in order for the world to be a better place, we need to focus on working together and putting a bigger emphasis on philanthropy. In an attempt to get my readers active and involved, last month I’d written a blog that highlighted several different Scottish charities that you could donate to. In the hopes of keeping that same spirit, here are even more Scottish charities to donate to.
Dedicated to supporting the United Kingdom’s veterans, Erskine is Scotland’s foremost veteran care centre. Erskine care centres provide the highest possible levels of care and compassion for our veterans. These men and women have given their lives to protect the UK, the least we can do is take care of them. The centre’s facilities are top notch and feature a variety of organised trips, excursions and entertaining events that are great for veterans to engage and interact with. In short, Erskine simply wants to provide our heroes with the care they deserve. Consider donating.
Brittle Bone Society
The Brittle Bone Society is a UK-wide charity that is determined to assist those who are suffering from Osteogenesis Imperfecta, otherwise known as “Brittle Bone Disease.” As the nickname implies, those that suffer from Osteogenesis Imperfecta have incredibly fragile bones that are at risk of breaking easily. There are roughly 5,000 individuals suffering from OI in the UK alone. Symptoms can range from mild to severe, and cause tremendous pain on those affected. Consider donating to the Brittle Bone Society.
Scottish Wildlife Trust
While it’s certainly important to focus on helping each other, we must also remember that there are a wide variety of animals and wildlife that could certainly use our attention. The Scottish Wildlife Trust does just that by championing conservation initiatives, safely managing their land on their reserves, and educating those interested in wildlife conservation. Consider donating to the Scottish Wildlife Trust today.
